A User’s Pragmatic Approach to Drive Accountability with CommandHound
Using CommandHound to drive accountability in the workplace does not just require implementing the software. It involves a culture change as well, which has lasting positive ramifications for any organization.
Embedding CommandHound into the DNA of your Business Drives Accountability
Here is a client’s pragmatic guide for how to succeed in embedding CommandHound into the daily operations of the business to drive a culture of accountability.
10 Practical Steps
These 10-step how-to guide will help you embed CommandHound into the DNA of your business:
1. Executive Support:
Constantly remind the executive sponsor to support and communicate the accountability vision for the organization and the critical part that CommandHound plays in making this vision a reality.
2. Preload Users and Groups:
Before giving employees access to CommandHound, preload all the necessary Users and create all the User Groups for each area where it will be deployed. This will make it easier to create Control Towers with the appropriate access controls.
3. Preload Control Towers:
Create at least 3 initial Control Towers for each User as they are invited to participate in CommandHound so they can visualize the possibilities:
- A personal one to keep track of personal to do items
- A general one for independent, non-process related work action items
- A meeting one for action items resulting from meetings the User leads

4. Deploy In Layers:
Start activating access to CommandHound for the executive sponsor and for his/her direct reports. Once this layer becomes familiar with the tool and how to use it to drive accountability, work with the next layer in the organizational hierarchy to extend CommandHound to those teams as well.
5. Start with Meetings:
Begin regular use of CommandHound to track meeting action items so everybody sees how simple it is to use to make sure things get done.
6. Encourage Personal Use:
Remind users to also use CommandHound to organize and track personal to do items with the idea of keeping everything together in one place to foster further use.
7. Establish Daily Routine:
Define and constantly communicate the need for everyone to get into a daily CommandHound routine to get the most out of it:
- Check the Dashboard for areas needing immediate attention at a glance
- Check Inbox for action items that are due today and for those that have been escalated
- Review and adjust dates as more information and events are known
- Look ahead at what action items are coming down the pipe in the Calendar for planning purposes

Check Intelligence reports by individual and team as needed. Communicate and provide feedback on a regular basis to enforce the notion of tracking and observation.
10. Connect to Performance Review:
